Hills Bible Church
We are a church family that consists of young and old with a mixture of many ethnic backgrounds. Hills Bible Church was formed in 2009 and moved to its current location in 2013. It is our mission to see believers: KNOW God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15) LIVE by God’s Word (1 Peter 1:22 – 2:3) COMMIT to God’s work (Romans 12:1-2) IMPACT God’s world (Matthew 28:18-20) Our mission is to produce faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who in turn make disciples (Matt 4:19, 28:18-20). This is articulated in the following vision statement: “HBC exists to glorify God by making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ in our local communities and to the least reached peoples of the earth.”

On Sunday 14 December 2025, Pastor Craig Baxter continued the 1 Peter series 'Living & Hoping as Exiles', with 'How a Church Remains Effective Under Pressure' from 1 Peter 5:1-5. What does living and hoping look like for those in exile? How can we make sense of suffering and turmoil in a world wrecked by the effects of sin? What does it really mean to be witnesses for Christ in our vocations, marriages and lives, while at times suffering unjustly? And, most importantly, how does Christ’s suffering inform and empower our lives? These are the questions that we aim to explore in our new series from 1 Peter. Join this series as we, the church, unite as “living stones”, built upon the cornerstone of Christ. As we stand upon this solid foundation, we are empowered by Christ and enabled to persevere through suffering while rejoicing in hope. If you feel blessed by this message, we encourage you to share this video with someone who may not know of God's enduring grace.
We invite visitors to join us at our Wantirna, Victoria location for our services each Sunday at 8:30am and 11am.

In this class we will continue our study of church history by looking at the church during the Middle Ages (c. 500 - 1400). The class explores the influence of Christianity on European society and examine church-state relations. We investigate key figures and events such as Charlemagne, the Monastic Movement, Iconoclasm, the Great Schism and the Crusades. We will also discuss the shape of Christianity in China during the Tang and Yuan dynasties. Many questions and challenges that the church faced during the Middle Ages still impact us today.

“You shall be holy, for I am holy” (1 Pet 1:16). God calls His children to live lives of loving obedience to Him, to delight in the goodness and beauty of God’s moral standards which show the infinitely good moral character of God Himself. In a world that increasingly rejects Christian moral values there is an urgent need for the church to maintain and grow our understanding of biblical ethics. This class will cover a broad range of ethical issues, seeking to provide answers and biblical wisdom to areas that appear ‘grey’. You will be equipped and encouraged to live this out in your daily life, that you may “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him; bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col 1:10). The topics we will be exploring are lying and truth telling, sabbath rest, human authority, self-defence, abortion, euthanasia and suicide.
Christian Ethics - Lesson 8 - Euthanasia Sunday, 7 December 2025
