Hills Bible Church
We are a church family that consists of young and old with a mixture of many ethnic backgrounds. Hills Bible Church was formed in 2009 and moved to its current location in 2013. It is our mission to see believers: KNOW God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15) LIVE by God’s Word (1 Peter 1:22 – 2:3) COMMIT to God’s work (Romans 12:1-2) IMPACT God’s world (Matthew 28:18-20) Our mission is to produce faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who in turn make disciples (Matt 4:19, 28:18-20). This is articulated in the following vision statement: “HBC exists to glorify God by making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ in our local communities and to the least reached peoples of the earth.”

What do the words “Be still and know that I am God” mean to you? Perhaps the greatest tragedy to hit modern evangelicalism is a degrading view of God. Over sixty years ago A. W. Tozer declared, “the church has surrendered her once lofty concept of God and has substituted for it one so low, so ignoble, as to be utterly unworthy of thinking, worshipping men.” J. I. Packer, in his book, Knowing God, warned, “Ignorance both in [God’s] ways and of the practice of communion with him lies at the root of much of the church’s weakness today. We must turn the tide if we are to be a church that is spiritually strong, pure and effective. The aim of this class is to make us wise to who God is by recapturing a high view of the Most High God through a study of His character. Our lives will be spiritually empowered when we begin to think of God as He truly is. Knowing God - Lesson 6 We invite visitors to join us at our Wantirna, Victoria location for our services each Sunday at 8:30am and 11am. On Sunday 31 August 2025, Pastor Craig Baxter continued the 1 Peter series 'Living & Hoping as Exiles', with 'Motivations for Holiness' from 1 Peter 1:17-21. What does living and hoping look like for those in exile? How can we make sense of suffering and turmoil in a world wrecked by the effects of sin? What does it really mean to be witnesses for Christ in our vocations, marriages and lives, while at times suffering unjustly? And, most importantly, how does Christ’s suffering inform and empower our lives? These are the questions that we aim to explore in our new series from 1 Peter. Join this series as we, the church, unite as “living stones”, built upon the cornerstone of Christ. As we stand upon this solid foundation, we are empowered by Christ and enabled to persevere through suffering while rejoicing in hope. If you feel blessed by this message, we encourage you to share this video with someone who may not know of God's enduring grace. We invite visitors to join us at our Wantirna, Victoria location for our services each Sunday at 8:30am and 11am. In term 3 2025, we commenced a series of studies on Church History. The first term of lesson explores the history of the early church – from AD 30 to around AD 500. We will examine the conditions, challenges, developments, key events and significant people of the early church. In addition, we will discuss the spread of the gospel, the church's response to persecution and heresy, and the worship of early Christians. The early centuries of church history built on the foundation of the apostles and left us with many valuable lessons and good examples for today.
