Hills Bible Church
We are a church family that consists of young and old with a mixture of many ethnic backgrounds. Hills Bible Church was formed in 2009 and moved to its current location in 2013. It is our mission to see believers: KNOW God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15) LIVE by God’s Word (1 Peter 1:22 – 2:3) COMMIT to God’s work (Romans 12:1-2) IMPACT God’s world (Matthew 28:18-20) Our mission is to produce faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who in turn make disciples (Matt 4:19, 28:18-20). This is articulated in the following vision statement: “HBC exists to glorify God by making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ in our local communities and to the least reached peoples of the earth.”

On Sunday, 17 March Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'Grace amidst Curses ' from Genesis 3:14-24.
After the Lord God elicited a confession of sin from the self-vindicating sinners, Adam and Eve, He decreed punishment for them and their progeny. Yet, within His curses and judgements God’s grace is made evident. They were not going to receive just judgement for their sin, but this would fall upon a future seed of the woman who would one day crush Satan. God also provided coverings for their shame and prevented them from living perpetually in a sinful state by barring a return to Eden. In this study we learn that God brings just punishment for our sin, affecting all areas of our life, while ultimately granting us God’s covering grace in Christ.
Grace amidst the curse of the serpent (vv. 14-15)
Grace amidst the judgement to the woman (v. 16)
Grace amidst the judgement to Adam (vv. 17-19)
Grace amidst the expulsion from paradise (vv. 20-24)

On Sunday, 10 March Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'Where Are You?' from Genesis 3:8-13.
It is hard to exaggerate the unmerited grace the Lord brings to Adam and Eve after they had grievously sinned by rebelling against God’s command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. However, even with our Lord’s enquiring question and patient examination Adam and Eve fail in their willingness to confess their sin without blame or deflection. Our passage highlights the gracious approach of our Lord and our forefathers’ resistance to coming clean. In this study we learn that God calls us to willingly confess our sins and not attempt to excuse ourselves.
It is a sinner’s habit to hide from God (v. 8)
It is God’s gracious habit to seek the sinner (v. 9-10)
It is God’s gracious habit to extract a confession (v. 11)
It is the sinner’s habit to deflect blame (vv. 12-13)

On Sunday, 3 March Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'How Temptation Works ' from Genesis 2:25-3:7.
Our passage tells of the heart-wrenching fall of Adam, as our representative before God, into sin. Here we see the serpent tempt Adam and Eve by raising serious doubt about the Word of God, the integrity of God and the goodness of God in giving the commandment to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As a result, the appeal of the forbidden tree to the senses of the woman prompted her to eat from the tree and give to her husband, whereby they became naked and ashamed. In this study we learn that we are called to overcome temptation from the world, the flesh and the devil by gaining a thorough knowledge of God’s Word, unwaveringly trusting in God’s goodness and maintaining continual vigilance.
Temptation often comes in disguise (v. 1a)
Temptation aims to sow doubt about God’s Word (vv. 1b-3)
Temptation aims to sow doubt about God’s integrity (v. 4)
Temptation aims to sow doubt about God’s goodness (v. 5)
Temptation appeals to our senses (v. 6)
Temptation yielded to brings forth death (v. 7)

Man Up: Embracing Biblical Masculinity
One of the most pressing needs of our time is for men to be men and embrace their masculinity. The culture has worked to crush any form of masculinity by labelling it as chauvinistic, toxic, and even harmful. As a result, we have generations of men who have lost the knowledge and will to be who they were created to be. This is not a phenomenon isolated to secular culture but one that has permeated the church. Men must embrace their manliness if the church, family, and society is to be what God calls it to be. Biblical masculinity must start young, be fought for as we grow and be modelled by those older than us. In this class men will study what Biblical masculinity looks like across the various stages of life from adolescence, young adults, marriage and all the way through to old age. Boys and men, join us as we courageously man up and embrace our God-given call to be men.

On Sunday, 25 February Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'Conviction and Compassion in an age of marital confusion' from Genesis 2:24.
Marriage according to God’s design is both good and beautiful. But we live in a culture that has not only disregarded God but has disregarded God’s design for marriage. Instead of marriage being the foundation stone of a relationship it has become the capstone: marriage is something people do to celebrate their relationship rather than mark the true beginning of their relationship, if they are to be married at all. In this study we will seek to understand how to think through these key issues and answer the questions, “How can we have conviction and compassion in an age of marital confusion?”
1) Affirm Biblical authority and submit to it
2) Affirm God’s glory as our highest goal of life and not our happiness
3) Affirm the fatal deception of sexual immorality
4) Affirm Christ’s victory over sin
5) Speak with conviction and compassion
