Hills Bible Church

We are a church family that consists of young and old with a mixture of many ethnic backgrounds. Hills Bible Church was formed in 2009 and moved to its current location in 2013. It is our mission to see believers: KNOW God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15) LIVE by God’s Word (1 Peter 1:22 – 2:3) COMMIT to God’s work (Romans 12:1-2) IMPACT God’s world (Matthew 28:18-20) Our mission is to produce faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who in turn make disciples (Matt 4:19, 28:18-20). This is articulated in the following vision statement: “HBC exists to glorify God by making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ in our local communities and to the least reached peoples of the earth.”

Have you ever tried, failed, and wondered why? Or perhaps someone you know has and has asked you to help them. If so, then this class is for you. In it we will explain the biblical pattern for real change in a clear, practical way that you can apply to the challenges of your daily life. You will also be better equipped to help others. This class will help you understand the underlying motivations for your actions and give you specific, practical help in changing long-standing patterns of behaviour, so you, and those you help, can grow in love for God and others. This class is based on the book and training course, How People Change, by authors Timothy Lane and Paul David Tripp. This class is for all who simply want to live a sanctified life and help others to do the same.

Lesson 7: Thorns: Why do you get entangled?

Wednesday Jun 05, 2024

David is one of the most well-known Bible characters. Even the world knows about him, at least about the David and Goliath story. But do they really know how much David means to the biblical narrative, how much he stands not just as an example of what (and what not) to do, but as a pointer to Christ. David is the great king of Israel, but he is but a shadow of the true King. The world doesn't know this, but do you know this? In this class we'll take a close look at 10 events/aspects of David's life, what they mean, what we can learn and how each of them connects to Christ or the gospel.
Teacher: Reuben Walters

Monday Jun 03, 2024

On Sunday, 2 June Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'Calm after the Storm' from Genesis 9:1-17.
After the recreation of the world, God blessed and commissioned Noah, demonstrating His high regard for life and human flourishing. This commission included the command to have children, to value human life over animal life and to punish all who willingly take human life. God also covenanted with Noah, promising to never flood the world again and gave His pledge by placing a rainbow in the sky. This promise would allow humanity to flourish without fear. In this lesson we learn that in God’s new world humanity is to value human life for it is precious to Him and to rest under His promise of protection.
Humanity must value human life (vv. 1-7)
Value human life by producing human life (vv. 1,7)
Value human life by prioritizing human life (vv. 2-4)
Value human life by protecting human life (vv. 5-6)
Humanity must rest under God’s promise of protection (vv. 8-17)
