When Your Faith Fails | Genesis 12:10-13:4

When Your Faith Fails | Genesis 12:10-13:4

After Abram showed extraordinary faith and obeyed God by leaving his country, people and family and travelling to the pagan land of Canaan where he worshipped God, his faith is tested again through a famine. When Abram traveled to Egypt to avoid the famine and passed his wife off as his sister, fearing that otherwise the Egyptians would kill him for her, he jeopardised the promise of blessing by losing his wife to Pharaoh, but the Lord intervened with plagues to deliver him and Sarai from Egypt. In this lesson we learn that when your faith fails, God remains faithful and calls you back to faith and to fulfill His purpose.

  1. At times your faith will be tested (12:10)
  2. When your faith fails it always leads to loss (12:11-16)
  3. When your faith fails God remains faithful (12:17-20)
  4. When your faith fails respond in repentance and worship (13:1-4)
