Treasure in Jars of Clay | 2 Corinthians 4:6-15
On Sunday, 29 September Simon Kepert delivered 'Treasures in Jars of Clay' from 2 Corinthians 4:6-15.
In this passage, Paul uses a vivid illustration – that despite being ordinary jars of clay, we contain an unimaginably precious treasure: the gospel of Jesus Christ. He gives us assurance that even when ‘cracks’ appear in our life, God will not let us be destroyed. For even as we carry the death of Jesus in our bodies, we also are united with Him in His life.
The light of the knowledge of Christ is within us, as treasure in jars of clay, and manifested by the way we carry the life and death of Jesus.
- Treasure in Jars of Clay (vv. 6-7)
- Cracks in the Jar (vv. 8-12)
- Jars Believing, Speaking, and Knowing (vv. 13-14)
- Jars of Clay to the Glory of God (v. 15)
