The Folly of Worldly Attachment | Genesis 19:1-38

On Sunday, 3 November Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'The Folly of Wordly Attachment' from Genesis 19:1-38.

When the Lord destroyed the cities of the plain with fire and brimstone, he delivered Lot by means of two angels who had to protect themselves from the wicked people of the city, drag the reluctant Lot from the doomed place, and agree to allow him to take refuge in a little town that would be spared from judgement. The curtain of Lot’s life closes as he finds protection in a cave in the mountains, which subsequently proved to be the birthplace of the wicked ancestors of the Moabites and Ammonites. In this study we learn that it is foolish to become attached to this present corrupt world because it awaits God’s judgement and will corrupt your life and threaten your future
  1. The world is utterly corrupt and destined for destruction (vv. 1-14)
  2. Worldly attachment will corrupt your life (vv. 15-29)
  3. Worldly attachment will threaten your future (vv. 30-38)
