Image is Everything | Genesis 1:26-31

On Sunday, 26 November, Pastor Craig Baxter continued the series 'Genesis: God's Unveiling Plan of Redemption and Blessing' with 'Image is Everything' from Genesis 1:26-31.

Why did God create people? This is perhaps one of the greatest questions derived in the mind of man and has to deal with the idea of purpose. It is this question that our text for this study answers. We have noted that God created the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them, over six days. But on the sixth day something dramatically changed: God made man in His own image and addressed him, giving him certain commands to follow. In this lesson we learn that as image bearers of God we are called to spread God’s glory through all the earth by bearing godly children and stewarding God’s world.

1. We were created to reflect God’s image (vv. 26-27)
2. We were created to raise Godly children (v. 28a)
3. We were created to steward God’s creation (vv. 28b-31)
